I haven't played ARK since about a month or so after release, and just came back recently and started playing on this server with a couple of friends.

I was out killing some dinos with my raptor assisting me, and I noticed my hide armor was breaking after 1-2 dinos, so I upgraded to flak and noticed it lasts 5-6 dinos tops (not talking rex's and such, but trikes and stegos and lessers), is it normal? I don't remember it breaking as fast before.

I google searched some things and it seems a bit ago about any posts from it, so maybe I just don't remember. Is there any armor that lasts a little while longer? Should I just be looking for BP's for apprentice+ so it lasts longer? If not it's not a huge deal just makes caves without a dino....interesting lol when I played a while back you couldn't take even sabers into caves as they'd get stuck and fall through the world lost forever.

There have been a few adjustments to Dinos recently, however they were mostly regarding the food consumption and birthing. I've not read anything on buffing their damage, if anything it's less.

There's a few things you might want to look into, if you haven't already.

-Durability. Obviously primitive armor breaks much faster.

-Upgrade if you can, there's plenty of us on the server with great BPs for this from cloth-riot gear; primitive to ascendant.

-If you were in a cave and spit on by a centipede. Their spit dissolves armor very quickly and they're strong.

-Some dino attacks hurt armor pretty bad; bats, dimorps and mantas are a few I can think of.

Other than that, there's no server setting or Dev update that's directly related.

Yup that's all I was curious about! It could've always been that way and I just never noticed/don't recall. I usually fight on dino back but am trying to get some levels to unlock some more blueprints. It is just the basic flak armor that you can craft from engram points I'll have to ask around to use some BP's or hope to get lucky on supply drops.

About 500-600 Ingots for the set..I think. I know Camp and South Shore Patrol has some great stuff too.
