Hey AAH admins and community. I'm Jamal on server. I've been putting off making this suggestion for a while now, but figured it's overdue on my part (I've wanted to suggest it for a bit now.) TL;DR at the bottom for the lazy crowd <3

Details:
- This is a refrigerated trough mod that multiplies timers by 30x. It requires gasoline to power, and requires some high end materials to craft. Also unlocked at 55 when u get the fridge.
Disclaimer
- I love this game; its one of a kind to me. And this server is great with both awesome admin support and fellow players. If this post seems whiny, rant-like, selfish, or something like that, I apologize. I would love the game to be harder, not easier. But making things take more time is not difficult; its tedious, and for many impractical due to IRL time constraints. If u choose not to implement this mod or something similar, I wont quit or anything. I'm just merely suggesting something to allow a single obligatory task to become less tedious.
First off, there are multiple trough mods out. This one is newer if I'm not mistaken, and thus has no rating. However it was the only trough mod that was not OP (like the refillable one ie: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=543394681&searchtext=trough) or running off electricity like the rest of them. Electricity, while good, is a drag due to having to run cables all over our bases if implemented. Some troughs just aren't placed close to buildings, let alone the generator or cable grid, to even be comfortable to power. And aesthetics are of most importance, so gas is better!
Second. this is a basic trough but with 30x spoilage timers. For those who don't know, the fridge has 100x multipliers. 30x may seem high, but realistically its less than 33% effective than the fridge. We would still need to feed our dinos, but I suspect that troughs will be emptied more so from the dinos eating rather than spoilage. Right now with a handful of carnivores, a trough will emptied, and spoil in roughly 24hrs depending on how many creatures you have. Thus dinos go hungry sooner and the future refills are less effective due to the dinos immediately eating chunks to satiate lost hunger. thus needing more meat sooner. Its a repetitive cycle. This trough will allow you to fill and worry much less about spoilage and more about actual feeding. More meat will be used to feed and less will rot. On a small aside, feeding carnivores is already a pain compared to the herbivore counterparts. Berries stack to 100, are frankly much easier to stock, and berry troughs seem to last at least twice, maybe 3x as long when filled.
Third, allow me provide an example. Today at about 11am my time, I got on to play and started with a meat run because it was necessary. I brought home about 1000 weight of meat on two gigas, and that barely fills my 6 meat troughs; my dinos are spread fyi. Sure I could mesh all my dinos in one spot for a single trough (2 groups, carnos and herbies) but that's horrific. This is PvE and I'm sure we build and position for aesthetics and convenience, not effectiveness and tactics. Anyway, troughs were filled along with 2 fridges and I began to go about my other in game business. Tonight prior to making this post, I checked my troughs only to find all stacks reduced from 20 to 6, and nearly 10 stacks of spoiled meat. That trough will surely be empty/spoiled by tomorrow morning when I log on. Dinos wont starve in a day, so I do not have to go farm meat right away, but it does put the obligation overhead of having to do so by the second or third day to be practical (I'm not trying to drain hunger before feeding.) For those of us with many dinos, this can be a huge drag. I know its part of the game, and this mod will not eliminate it. It will only make it less of a chore. Having to spend 45 mins to an hour to gather meat every 2 days before being able to do anything else like caving, taming, building, etc. gets old. Even if this only makes it so I have to meat run every 5-6 days, its still better than nothing. And I'd rather farm gas.
I am not asking for things to be easier. I am just looking for my time, and therefore my fellow players time, to be used more effectively. Ark's arbitrary difficulty (when not at "joke" level like the arenas) is often based on time. Things deemed more difficult often just require more time, rather than skill or tactics. It's a cheap band aid for challenge. This is the nature of the game and we cannot change this. But we can work around it. Perhaps too, I am biased as I played mostly solo with the exception of fairly recently (although Tec is taking a break, so back to solo it is.) But this simply will just allow meat to be eaten rather than spoiled. I know I'm not the only one who spends an hour filling troughs only to see them emptied and spoiled a day later.
The only other realistic (and mod-less) way to counter this is to only partially fill troughs, and keep like 20 fridges full of meat on standby to steadily supply troughs as needed. However not only is this just perpetuating the cycle, it also becomes a what seems like a mandatory investment just to make feeding dinos less of a chore. Doing one giant meat run every week that takes easily 3 or 4+ hours (or worse if many people are online and the island is barren with life), is not a fix for having to do one every 2-3 days.
PS - I didn't even mention cooking meat. Sure it stacks to 30 thus more in the trough, and has twice the spoilage timer, but it's worth half the food. So, most of it will still be wasted. Not to mention the time (ie "difficulty") it takes to cook a vast amount of meat. So now we need 10 grills on top of 20 fridges to keep this from being an every-third-day process xD.
For those who read the entire post, thank you. Even if you disagree, thank you, and any input is more than appreciated. I look forward to feedback on this suggestion.
TL;DR
I hope this refrigerated trough mod is considered. It is a small and practical band aid to lessen, but not eliminate an in game chore which ends up constituting quite a bit of time as we acquire more creatures. It will subsequently free up more time to enjoy the "actual" game like more taming, cave runs, building projects, arenas (if you're a glutton for punishment), etc. and this would be a good thing, especially to those whose time is limited already.
