You do have a valid point.

So the reasoning behind no being able to pick up dinos is because the tame speed is high but I feel the need to pick dinos up with my argy to kill them but obviously can't. Is there any reason why we can't reincorporate that option? Would be nice so we could have a community snake egg harvest spot or just so we can grab things and tame them where we want/safer area.
What's the problem with this?

It's off for multiple reasons. One of which is that we've had issues with people abusing others, dropping dinos in their base etc. The largest reason though is that we are on 5x and we believe this adds some challenge to the game which is sorely lacking in challenge once you get to a certain point. No tame lasts over 40 minutes at the current rate and we don't believe that's too much to ask for people to babysit their dino. If we were on 1x we'd consider bringing it back, but we want people to be able to solo so that's not really a possibility.

I don't think you can egg farm wild dinos, as they de-spawn, we have tried a couple of times only to find them poof later on.

This is brought up quite often... There's a few reasons wild dino pick-up was turned off: -It's a PVE server in the truest sense. Griefing is our most immediate concern. While we have a great mature community and you never know when someone new will log in just to troll and start dropping dinos into a base. While this may not ruin a base, if you do it with enough dinos they could kill quite a few tames. Not everyone keeps all their dinos on Neutral within their base walls. That's a worse case scenario and can become a major PVP issue. -Since it's a PVE server. It's more of a challenge to get out there and tame. That said, we don't want it to become a constant grind either. Hence, the public volcano forge and the x5 taming bonus. Our intentions when creating the server was to create a positive community atmosphere where players can work together to have fun while enjoying the core game (bosses and caves...and hopefully more story . While we admins have very specific intentions and reasoning for most of our settings choices and the mods we're willing to introduce. We're always willing to discuss new ideas and options as they come up. While we don't always agree, even among ourselves, we believe the spirit and intentions of the server stay true to our original ideals, all of which we're united on. I understand that some people miss being able to pick up wild dinos, some have said it's a lot more fun to tame in the wild. But I realize this is not always the case. BTW. There's currently no way to create a "titan boa egg farm" I've tried and I've watched a few videos of others who have tried. The problem occurs when there's no active survivor near the dinos. They (de)re-spawn outside of the pen and you'll come back to nothing. This is a mechanic of the game. Dinos don't lay eggs unless a survivor is nearby. I don't know the details of this mechanic so that's all I can speak on regarding that. I hope this (long winded) reply helps to answer your questions/concerns. This is a great server with tons of very helpful people, if you ask for help taming and someone is available I'm sure they'll accommodate you however they can. -Nails

to clarify, it will work, if you put them in an area and stay there for a half hour or so, there should be eggs. but as soon as you log out or fly off, all those boas will despawn. we would aggro them and kite them into a house and run out the other door.

Thanks for the lengthy reply. I understand and thanks for the clarity on the boa idea. BTW sorry for the long reply. I tend to rant. That question gets brought up quite often so I wanted to be through in our reply.
