Hello. Community Player AlexAen here, I was wondering with the new upcoming update on ARK that includes the hair cutting and dying game feature that will be included in the January 20th 2017 update for ARK if the mod Cute Hair is still needed. I've already asked this question to an admin and was told that many people still like this mod and I can understand why but I was wondering if in the interest of attracting new players by reducing the number of big mods we could have a poll to remove this mod anyways once the hairstyles and facial hair and dye-ing update is out. I think we can attract more community players when we have mods that are small and lite but this mod is taking up like 1.12GB on my hard drive, and to download it new players have to download a compressed version of it for an ungodly amount of time. Anyways I just wanted to know if people feel the same way I do about this mod. Thanks for reading! Edit: I understand the Jan 20th ETA for the hairstyles and facial hair update will probably be extended and pushed back (delayed) by WildCard, they always delay important features.

I do agree there are too many mods. Personally, I'd be happy with just the corpse finder mods and the temp structure mod.
Takes me awhile to log in and I envision lots of lag with the S+ bases being developed.
I like the S+ mod but it's rather OP.
That it.
Despite my high number of deaths, I'm in favor of anything that makes this game harder.

i love the mod, i look like an aztec god at the moment lol.
Plus it allows us to host costume contests. We've had good luck with that in the past.

I love the mod too, it makes helmets actually useable. Without it, I'd basically never use a helmet because they're all so hideous looking or inefficient looking or make my hair disappear. I imagine even with the upcoming hair updates, the hair will just disappear as soon as you put on a hat or helmet

You don't find helmets usable? You're crazy!

They need to just add an option to hid the helmet on PVE servers, instead of just using costume items.

"need to" but won't. and I don't find helmets usable because I value my own vanity over actual efficiency

Hear, Hear! Although Pet and Body Finder mod is really great and small to download, so I like it a lot.

I like the S+ mod but it's rather OP. Which part is OP? 300 slot smithy? or being able to pick up structures? Pull resources? lol I assumed you'd turn the pick-up and pull resources off in settings, but was pleasantly surprised they stayed in. Pick up and pull abilities can be easily toggled off and it would make sense for AAH. Zardya turned them both off off on his AAH SE Server. On the other hand, no-clip, hideable wiring, smithy/fab big enough to craft more bp's, etc, I don't think those can be classified as OP as much as bug-fix. I'm curious if pick-up or pull ability is mostly what you mean. As far as cute hair, I wish we could get more data on how many people actually abandon the idea of logging into AAH once they realize one mod is a gig or larger. It's hard to guess whether it's a big issue or not the mod size seems to be the only downside as long as that old crashing bug is not a thing anymore. It seems fixed.

Since we lost temp structures, I'm hoping we keep on the S+ pickup feature. Sometimes things in ark just place wrong even when aligned, so the ability to correct it without needless farming is appreciated. Now if ark fixes its construction bugs then I'd be for turning it off.

I'll likely get stoned for this, but I think the entire mod is OP. Editing several of the S+ mod abilities makes it somewhat pointless to even use. That said, I enjoy the mod and have used nearly every aspect of it. It would be pointless for me to protest it. With the exception of the pet/corpse finder mod I have no problem with getting rid of all the mods. I've always been a proponent of less mods and making the server more difficult. It takes me the better part of 10 minutes to log in, I get nearly constant lag when moving and I simply don't think they're necessary to enjoy the game. The majority of the mods we've used here are quality of life mods or superficial/cosmetic mods. Despite my dislike for mods in general, they make people happy and the players enjoy them.

I love S+ mod and it's probably one of the only reasons I've settled in to playing again with buildings rather than just taming a bronto and squatting on top of a mountain with it. Although I would not mind if the pull-resources guns were removed since they are clearly the most OP part of the mod.
back to cute hair mod, I think a final decision on it (if any) should wait for jan 20 if the in-game hair options are added. If it gets pushed back, or turns out to be a huge disappointment with barely any features or changes, then we should probably postpone removing cute hair, or put it up to vote

We'll reevaluate this after the anniversary event.
