I have been with this server for most of it's existence. I joined in late spring I believe. From day one I felt welcomed and aided whenever I asked. I had played on a few before including official and various private. None provided the community atmosphere I experienced here. In return, I have always tried to be helpful and kind. For many months, two wipes, and a boat load of changes, I have stuck with AAH.
I think it's safe to say that Winnipeg tribe has become a fixture on the server. I like to think that many here enjoy having me and Chinona share their ARK experience.
But of late, things have spiraled downward. It seems like the community feel is under attack by a few malcontents who can't seem to stop whining, complaining, pushing rule boundaries, and begging. I get enough of that at work. I don't need to be hammered by it during my time.
So as of now, I plan to be on sparingly, only coming on to maintain the base, feed the kids, and run necessary errands. Until I decide finally what my ARK future will look like, that'll be it. This is the first time I ever really contemplated leaving the server altogether. I would be sad to leave. But if one's favourite pastime outside the doldrums and demands of the work day becomes as harrowing as work, what's the point?
I do not speak for Chinona. Nor will I try in any way to influence her plans for her ARK experience. The Winnipeg tribe may very well continue without me. That's fine with me. But know that if I do leave it will be a direct result of the constant and increasing incidents of petty and immature behaviour. The admins and mature community members are what make this server great.
