Lately, there is a very disgusting taste in my mouth at seeing the needy constant harrasment of the admins for their precious low level dinos to be rescued due to a lack of common sense when riding around and the choices they make in doing things. This has the negative affect that the admins are thusly not allowed to play the game themselves and drains them of their fun.
To supplement and hopefully lower this to an almost non-existent status, I suggest that after the first free rescue per tribe, that we then have to pay upfront cost of 15,000 ingots for each rescued dino. The benefits of this are twofold, it allows the admin to get, what many consider the ingame currency, to help them along in their game play and also makes the player truly consider both their actions before walking over a questionable rock surface (the glitchy ones are EASILY seen) and consider whether or not their dino is worth wasting the time of an admin. I am sure that many will not see a level 40 argy stuck in a cave as worth 15,000 ingots, so that would mean less time spent by the admin rescuing it time and time again OR the admin having 15,000 ingots to go to whatever they wish.
EDIT: Do note, the admins can of course, change the amount, frequency or limits set to this to their desire, I just feel the amount should be high enough to be problematic to even the end game tribes. Perhaps a scaling limit based on character/tribe level?

Haha, I appreciate the consideration 15k ingots? Woooo lol I like!!! But, there has been discussion about having 'admin times' where we'll be available to be admins at specific times/days. We volunteered to be admins/said yes when asked. Emergencies happen, and ARK does, well ARK things. Sometimes it can't be helped. We know who the repeat offenders are though, and yes, if you keep repeating the same thing over and over and over, help will be very slow in coming, if at all. I do appreciate the thought though!

I figured the most obvious resolution would be to add more admins. Neighborhood grows and more people need police services, you hire more police, not charge for their services.

More admins = bad idea. Thats like saying since its legal to own guns we should just pass out one to everyone. More detrimentally terrifying outcomes can come by that decision. Im with Rast on this. Unless its an absolute 1 time only it should be used as a deterrent option than lifeline to be used at will. Admins just want to play the game too not have to worry about fixing every issue and rescuing every dino that may be stuck glitched or just poofed.

That's not at all comparable. Admins are entrusted and monitored with powers to help people in-game and deal with issues. It's not remotely close to the idea of giving everyone guns (or in this case, giving everyone admin powers). Considering that Nails was pretty much the only admin on for over a day, constantly busy, it's self-evident we need at least one new admin, especially during the anniversary event
As well, re-reading the initial post makes the suggestion itself seem like something to punish new players. There are people who joined who are completely brand new, and others who are new to TheIsland. Demanding an exorbitant charge to save a lvl 40 argent is something an alpha tribe like yours can shrug and write off as a loss, but for a new player who likely spent hours of game time with narc berries and raw meat to tame, losing an animal to a stupid glitch or having it stuck somewhere permanently is game-breaking. They can't afford to pay a bullshit fee and they can't afford to lose an animal to something that can resolved in a few minutes by an admin.

You think my tribe is an alpha tribe? We have one ptera, raptor, anky and parasaur, with a mix of dolphins, no other dinos, far from alpha since most have more than one rex or quetzal at this point. Also, even with a quetzal and anky when we had one on The Center with full metal base, 15,000 ingots was still costly and would've taken my tribe several days of going out to the spawns and still allowing others a chance at the metal.
This is also why I said the admins could adjust pricing per situation. Even do an increase per request, first 10 rescues, 20 ingots... But watching chat during the few hours I'm on, some players are requesting help 3-5 times per hour.
Also, most of the stuck rescues aren't ark bugs but people making bad choices like jumping down a cliff in cave with wolf and then cannot get out due to no cave building.

Another long winded reply from Nails incoming....
Here's the deal. The admins are here because we want to. We've all taken breaks from the game.
Yes, we're here to play. Personally, I don't mind helping appreciative and thankful people when needed.
WHEN NEEDED.
Ideally speaking there should be no need for an admin to be present 24/7. If there is a 24/7 need for that I'd imagine it's a poorly ran server.
Reaching out to an admin should be the final option, not the first.
Despite how some admins act or are perceived, we're not gods. They simply cannot fix every problem that arises. If you feel that way you should refer to the idea that; "god (admins) help those who help themselves".
Some players consciously put themselves into situations where they know an admin might be required to resolve the situation. Some do it unconsciously.
Example: Structures that might violate the rules. While an admin can most certainly resolve the problem, a quicker and easier solution is simply to reach out to the owner/tribe--in a polite manner. If they're not on-line at the time, reach out to them in the forums. The admins would do the same thing. If after doing this there was no response, then an admin will happily find a resolution.
The rules are designed to this end. So mature gamers can administer themselves.
We're not police, custodians, rule lawyers or Judge Dredd. We're gamers who enjoy the community enough to help support it. We're willing to put our time (and money) into supporting a fun game so other may also enjoy it, in a safe, friendly environment.
On a side note: I wanted to do something fun for the AAH community so I planned and set up the anniversary events with the full knowledge that I might end up being the only admin available to run them. I knew this going into it and I accepted this possibility. I know the other admins will be there when/if they can. Thank you for your consideration, I truly do appreciate it.
~Nails
P.S. Thank you very much Rastuasi for your thoughtful and generous idea.

As Nails said, we don't mind putting our time in to help when we can. There's a post where a tribe lost some dinos to bugs/glitches. Instead of logging in and just spawning them new dinos (we'll almost never do this as admins) I offered them my tribes personal kibble to go tame new ones.
Admins are needed for some things, but for the most part things can be handled by the player base. Remmeber it's a pve server, helping each other out is not a bad thing.
A stuck dino? It happens, sometimes completely by accident and just something weird happens. It can't be helped and we accept that, and have no problem admining up and helping out.
It's the "Oh I'll just go here and do this, even though I know what will happen, I'll just get an admins help" is what we don't want to happen, or become a habit.
Even as an admin I've lost dinos to bugs and glitches, I don't spawn in a new one, I go well that sucks, but its a survival game, sometimes you have to learn to survive with bugs and glitches, we all know this game has its flaws.
As for me, I'm on when I can be, most of the time it's during work hours and only if someone asks for help. I'm on in the evenings when I can be.
There will never be an "admin charge" for any help we offer (donations to keep the server up are always welcome). We weren't forced into being admins, and we know there's sometimes where we will have to spend a good chunk of our time helping players, and we accepted this, so everyone can enjoy the same game.
Edit: fixed some typos, typing on mobile sucks lol

Remember baby Jessica back in 1987? If not look her up. Every time I see those calls for help... every day... I keep thinking of that 18 month old stuck in that well... again and again.

Add more admins? I already scraped the bottom of the barrel for dewfus! The nature of the game is you will lose things. Our sister server (Apocalypse) goes by the rule of 'that sucks, tame another'. There is no admin help, just like on live servers. We do the best we can, and we're a close group of people that I've come to trust. We don't need more, people need to be more self sufficient and remember they're playing an alpha product.

Dinos get stuck in caves, probably don't take them there until it's fixed. I think this should be a new rule lol.

There is a list of dinos that can go into and get out of each cave on the island map on the ark wiki. It is up to date and repeat offenders should be punished for getting dinos that they know will get stuck in the cave it is stuck in. Admins should not have to have a dino taxi service for stuck dinos in caves every single time they log into the game.

I would just as soon no longer provide such a service before I put people out that many ingots, lol, I love the spirit though!
