I get why this feature was disabled, but I think we should reconsider. I've been on this server for over a month now and seems quite friendly. Over this period, i think I've only seen people argue twice and it was not that big of a deal from my perspective.
Picking up untamed dinos really seems to be a big feature we are missing out on. It can be used for dropping dino's in taming pens, defensive capability or relocating unwanted dinos and I'm sure many other reasons.
Lets enable this, even if just for a "probationary" period and see how it goes. Perhaps even add a low tolerance policy for people that feel the need to abuse this.
This will also give more reason to use turrets. Right now I want to add them but not much reason to add them.

It was also disabled in an effort to give more challenge. Not sure how we could address that.

If taming was at 1x I'd consider it. Since we're at 5x we feel it adds a bit of difficulty to the game that's needed. Yes we require you to babysit your tames, but they'll never take more than 40 minutes if you use kibble.
The game is a survival game and outside of taming, you're never really vulnerable once you find yourself a rex/quetz. That 40 minutes of fear/worry is something the admin team here felt was needed to get the best experience with the game.
The possibility of PVE Griefing was only one minor reason why we left off flyer pickups on wild dinos. We've had to say goodbye to a few people who've started playing on this server because pickup was disabled. It's not something we're going to change now unless the core mechanics of the game change.

I was originally for being able to pick up wild dinos when I started but after having lived without it for awhile I have come to prefer it.
My main reason is that it eliminates a part of the game that has become fun for me. That being the uncertainty of if I will be able to get the dino in question or not. With being able to drop it into a pen, there is almost no question that you will tame the dino and get as high as possible out of it. With it disabled there is no telling what will happen, maybe a dino will come up and attack it forcing you to abandon the tame, maybe you fail to plan and don't bring enough narcotics or you fail to find enough food out in the wild in order to be able feed it. It's that uncertainty that makes the tame exciting for me, it helps me affirm that I did something to get that dino.
As it is, once you get a few dinos under your belt such as a spino/rex/quetz alot of the game stops being a challenge. It's nice to have something in the game that isn't for certain. Goes along the same lines as to why I don't build saddles for people that are lvl 10 and knocked out a argent, takes out a large portion of the game.
It's a minor thing and I don't think it would happen alot on this server, but someone will find a way to cause grief with this mechanic. I personally leave all my dinos on passive as to not cause issues for visitors, all it would take was for someone to drop a carno into a pen and that could spell doom for my dinos. I have had to close off all gates to my base as it is as people were leaving the doors open.

I would rather have 5x taming than picking up Dinos. Picking up Dinos might be nice for things like wolfs and scorpions, but counter productive for major water and air dinos. Also if it were to go down to 1x tame it would be a hug time sink in general and I could see people leaving the server. If I wanted to sit around for a long time staring at a dino I would breed gigas like its going out of style.
