Still fairly new to the server and have put quite a few hours into it by myself but i think the server could use a wipe if it has been up for that long. Everything needs a refresh at some point and most gamers should understand that in the gaming world nothing is permanent especially in a game that updates because an update can wipe a whole game. So do what you need to do that is best for your server.

Just got word from other SSP members, we'd be 100% happy with a wipe if that's decided on.
Ark is about using those attributes listed on your specimen implant to survive. Most of us are so settled down that we're DE-Evolving into couch-potatoes while the dinos fight outside our gates, unnoticed.. As I'm finding, even partially self-wiping to regain some of the magic is a monumental task and sometimes I'd rather just be rid of all the stuff and start fresh somewhere new on the map and build better, taking the lessons of the old world with us.

does the center have anything like the new caves with the increased difficulty curve or boss spawning yet? Can you summon broodmother or meso? Yes they said in today's patch along the redwood and new caves etc there's now the boss summons available |

Honestly, ive been off for a few weeks cause of loss of interest and some other games, mainly Riders of Icarus and Overwatch before that. Im not opposed to a wipe. However, I feel that it will just cover up the root of the problem for it to be exposed again a few months later. Contrary to popular beliefs. I still think more mods would increase the replay-ability, yes, i known you guys wanna keep it lightly modded, but come on, youre gonna wipe to then in a few months have lvl 240 whatever dinos again and have the same problem. Idk, I still think adding some mods to increase dino level or whatever would help out, something that would make you feel at a risk even if youre running your lvl 240 rex. But maybe thats just me lol

But maybe thats just me lol yes the issue being the game isn't finished and lacks an endgame that's cohesive or a story to keep people interested. Mods are great, the game just isn't stable. Heavily modded servers can have severe issues. Less so now than a year ago, but there are still problems. I've wanted the game of thrones mod for months, but if more than 15 people are using it the server drops to 5 frames per second. with the high population we used to have it wasn't worth the time to test and remove. Might be different now. I think the center will be a nice new area to appease boredom before release. If it has bosses, I'm all for it. I'm on the cusp. I'd just need to do a lot of work to update our ruleset for the map. |

Especially if you're a solo player. Takes a tons of work to get to a comfortable point where you can start running caves and killing bosses safely. Keep that input coming folks! We have a solid community of great people here, I'd hate to alienate anyone with a wipe or visa versa. Nash and myself will discuss this subject in more detail over the weekend. i can see why it might be a problem for solo player's im one my self but with this community i do not worry about that much:)) wipe or no this server has become my second home tho summers here ill try to be on as much as possible been away for a while due to hardware problem wich seems to be totaly fixed now and some knee problems for wich i have to go to the hospital in a few day's t find out what the prob might be i support ever dessision made by the dev's. ( a wipe might be a good thing tho Personaly it will let me start building again in a way diffrent manner )  see ya soon in there again Gretings The Mighty'st of Mighty Jane |

I have extreme trouble being motivated at all if I don't have active tribemates lol. I'm liking the idea of combining some of the tribes if we wipe. I like the idea of a community boss fight, or cave diving once everyone has the equipment / dinos to do it. The center map is pretty amazing, and if it does have the caves, drops, and bosses that's even more awesome! I think the big question here is: Is there going to be a wipe? I plan on playing on the server tonight and this weekend, but if we are going to do a wipe I might just hold off.

- Re: City I'm a fan of the city idea, but as anyone who's been to Enron's base or any of the big bases knows, there are big issues with that lol. Lag begins very quickly with lots of structures in an area and lots of dinos makes it even worse. It may be neat as a starter alliance base, but not for too long lol. That's why the proto-city I'm currently toying with(on hold due to wipe discussion) is specifically targeted as being a community snow biome/water pen base at the "Pearl River" area at like 15, 45 or w/e on the map. So anyone in the city alliance would only have a couple snow and water related dinos there and a few of their own resident buildings anyways, but would still have a reason to regularly visit to do stuff associated with those biomes if they chose to participate I'd love to translate that to the game after the wipe if it happens, or to the center map probably south of the swamp/southeast of the center island thing where it's snow biome/water and everyone would benefit from shared protection in those crazy hostile places >.< At least to keep the biome/environment specific dinos safe when they're working in their main bases. - Re: The Center. I do have one suggestion for center though... I think the map would benefit greatly from some sort of major reduction in giga spawns.... litterally the only place that gigas don't spawn *all the time* on the center, is on the two small tropical islands in the east... EVERYWHERE else is giga country... I like difficulty, but giga isn't difficulty, giga an act of god... that's 100% random... is too big of a threat to have to guard against on 99% of the map. Seriously they can even spawn up on the spires and drop down anywhere, even inside base walls... it's insane. |

Could also have a public place to have a few of every dino who's eggs could be needed for a baby care. Though really someone could just go sit at Enron/Savage Flower/SSP base for an hour and get eggs too lol.
Maybe have some locked and some unlocked food troughs, so if you come with food and the dinos are hungry, they poop more and that means higher chance to spam out some eggs lol.

quick notes on the center to those curious
-its a beautiful map, bigger than the island but much of it is peaks or bluff like areas that are tricky to traverse or build on so id say building room is not much different (talking strictly the amount.) Some areas are straight up unreachable without a flyer
-giga spawns (unless fixed in the recent patch) are quite high, and they only dont spawn on half burnt (dead island) and the 2 eastern islands. most other places are fair game including the peaks that reach quite (with 1 tree on them). this causes them to lunge off and reach places, sometimes inside bases
-caves are not the caves of the island. there's are only a handful, most have 2 artifacts to compensate so u can get all of them. they are full of the typical cave dinos, but imo island caves are better. Not a negative, just and fyi.
-metal is far less scarce there and rather than being dense in a few spots is lightly scattered all over. the volcano and batman island are the dense locations, but you are not obligated to go there for your needs. big plus over the island
