Hello everybody! I have been taking a break from Ark for a while but very recently rejoined the server and am looking to start my base. Specifically I am wondering whether the hilltop known commonly as "Weather Top" is a valid base location and if it is whether or not somebody is already building/planning to build there. I obviously do not want to build in a 'forbidden' spot and would also hate to inconvenience any other individual because of ignorance. If you have anything built on WeatherTop of are planning to please let me know and I'll happily look elsewhere.

Note: I just checked and weathertop is not circled on the map of forbidden base locations in the server rules thread. I assume that this is not out of date or inaccurate but if it is and an administrator seen this I would greatly appreciate him/her informing me.

Hey there Sparrow and welcome back, I don't think Weathertop has any major resource spawn points that you'd be blocking (but i'm not 100% on this). It should be okay so long as you're not building within 20 foundations, blocking spawns or ruins. We do have a general rule not to build on mountain tops, which nearly always blocks spawn points. Update: Checked weathertop and somebody else has already built on it. I will go look elsewhere but if anyone have suggestions please leave them.

I don't know if you're still looking. But I cleaned up my southern starter base last night. It's a really nice location across from the redwoods, have your own personal pool with beaver dams. And a constant stream of Threriz, although 90% of the time they are goofed out on trees. It's very pretty. Just a little northeast of the fishing hole and trading post at the NW corner of the swamp.
If it doesn't help you, might help the next person. 8)
