A lot of you may have seen me chatting about the leeds and how I think they should be removed from our server. Here is my rationale.
Realistically, the leed has one purpose, to bring the game to the shores and land. Just like the flyer nerf which was designed to bring the game back to the ground, so it is with the leed. A lot of us truly enjoy the sea life. I personally would love to spend most of my time on ARK cruising the oceans. But with the leeds, that is very limited. We have to stick to the shores for fear of losing our boats and gear.
On a PVP server, the leed seems to be a balance for the OP attack boats that are overused. But on a PVE server, I really see no point to the leed. Yeah it may add an element of danger or challenge to the game. But the challenge is not needed on PVE. I get that raised stats and a lot of mods take a way from the survival aspect of the game. But the leed does not give challenge in PVE, it gives annoyance.
I understand they are a good resource for fish meat. That is one use. Maybe there are settings that could remove it's damage to structures? I dunno how it works.
Maybe I am missing something here. Maybe there is a place for leeds on a PVE server. I'd love to hear those thoughts.

As I'm sure you know, we're not in the habit of changing dino spawn on this server. The ONE dino we've disabled was the Titanosaur and that was after months of complaining that they were simply getting stuck in bases' and they were not being tamed. No one misses them. The leeds present the same challenge on both a PVE or PVP server, they attack ships and there is a way to counteract them, giant bee honey. Yes, they very much present a challenge in the water, no longer can you hop on a raft and not worry about a thing. You need to be attentive. With the addition of motorboats, you can also outrun the leeds (alpha is faster). More importantly, we need alpha leed blubber for the ascendant caves.
