Going to be doing another migration here in the coming week or so. I picked up a new gig so my old one will likely tear down the server at some point
I've decided to migrate to OVH, which for their Northern America data center, is located in Eastern Canada. Shouldn't be too much of a latency difference from the current cluster.
However, OVH comes with much better processors -- so it should eliminate the server-side FPS lag we see when the maps become populated. We will be moving from 2x Intel Xeon E5-2697 v4 @ 2.30GHz to 1x OC'd I7 7700k @ 5.0GHz
I will be working this week to test migrating some backups of the maps and will have more information for you guys later this week. Likely the migration will be pretty short notice (on an exact day) because I'm finishing up projects at work before my last day on Nov 10th. I will for sure wait to do it after the Halloween event ends
On an ending note, I'll probably open up a donation PayPal again. I'm not looking for the community to fund the server as a whole, it's not pocket change (about $135 a month) but for those who would be willing to donate, we'll open up the pool again since we'll actually have to pay for hosting now
