With the new release of the welcomed Aberration DLC, the admins have decided to add some additional restrictions due to how the cluster is set up.
We will be removing the ability to tame 'map-breaking' dinosaurs. This means if you bring a fertilized egg from another map, it will hatch and you will not be able to claim them. In short, this covers all flyers as well as some harvesting dinos. In addition to this, if you have already brought over an egg and hatched + claimed it, you will likely find that it has been destroyed. As there is no way to transfer it back off of Aberration, we have removed them. Looking through tribe logs, we noticed: 1 Ice Wyvern, 1 Lightning Wyvern, 2 Pteras, and 2 Theriz
The full list of restricted dinos is:
Pteras, Argys, Quetz, Gigas, Theriz, Tapejara, Wyverns, Ichthys, Pelagornis, Dimorphs, Moths, Megalania, Terror Birds, Vultures, Archaeopteryx, Vulture, Brontos
The reasoning behind this is we (the admins) would like to have fluent and organic progression. The devs have clearly stated that this is a no-flyer map, but have failed to consider the ability to transfer fertilized eggs. We agree that the map should remain without flyers and in addition to, believe that several other dinosaurs would be map-breaking for the below reasons:
Bronto: A lot of AOE push back, would be able to tank and deal a lot of damage in the rock drake nest
Dimorphs: Likely OP for caves -- we had considered removing troodons as well, but the caves have large drop offs. If you bring troodons in, you're likely not getting them back out
Flyers: Obvious
Note: Additional dinos can be added at admin discretion -- subject to change.
EDIT: Since the 275.4 update WC has prevented the transfer of fertilized eggs to Aberration. With that said, the admins are requesting that if you have hatched any non-aberrant dinos on Aberration that you transfer them back to the map they came from. Next week (probably monday) I'll be destroying all non aberrant dinos.
